Don't Understand Why People Are Having A Problem September 13, 2008 After reading several very negative reviews of this product, I decided to purchase anyway and see for myself. Based on past experience with Blitz products I didn't believe this self-venting can could be so poorly designed. Plus Amazon's price was exceptional.
Well, surprise, I've had none of the problems reported by others -- no leaks, no dribbling, nothing. It performs as one would expect. Of course you'll need a funnel to get gas into your mower, but that's expected. So my advise -- try it for yourself, and follow the instructions regarding how to install the nozzle.
A Little big and heavy when full August 27, 2008 For my use, This Gas Can does the trick. It has positive fitting blocker and spout. It does not leak in my car (at least when the cap is tight). So Far So Good. I might have preferred a 4 gallon can though since it would be a little smaller.
Envirmental Can NFG August 17, 2008 I am all for keeping things green, Not trashing the earth.
But can somebody design a can that gas will flow without ending up on your feet !!!!
They have to short of a spout and need a breather screw to vent air.
I purchased 6 for the Next California Quake, Been there and Done that.
so now we are getting the generators ready to go.
Gas cans need work.
Try something else.
Seems to be fine to me. July 28, 2008 I've owned this gas can for several years now, and have absolutely no problem with it. It's common sense not to over-fill it, and to pour slowly. Still having problems?...buy a funnel!
bad bad bad June 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just bought one of these self-venting gas cans for putting fuel in my boat. In the past I used the old-style cans with a separate vent that you would open, which are no longer available (I used these for 10 years so I'm not new to gasoline containers). My problems:
1. it leaks no matter what you do -- I smell like gasoline 2. it's unbelievably slow -- takes forever to empty 5 gallons 3. the spout is not flexible, which makes it difficult for some circumstances 4. given where the spout is placed and how it's angled, it's impossible to empty into some gas tanks because you can't lift the can vertically with the rigid spout inserted in the tank
Recommendation: find something else -- the person who designed this can obviously never tried to use it
